Gretsch Drums 16"x16" FT Catalina Cl. SWG

I bought this an addition to my 20x14/14x14/12x8 Catalina shell set.

It is awesome. To those who are worried about a colour match - my shells look as it they were made to match - perfect.

This sits perfectly between the 20" bass and 14" floor tom and the 12" rack tom creates a nice separation.

I tune all my drums quite low most of the time. This drum responds brilliantly to that. It sounds amazing tuned deep and played with soft felt beaters as well as sticks.

However, it even works well tuned high/jazz with brushes.

The quality and sound for this price is unbeatable.

If you are thinking about buying this, stop thinking and buy it.

Ich spiele die 16x16" Gretsch Catalina Club Floortom nun seit einiger Zeit und bin damit sehr zufrieden. Solide Verarbeitung, guter Klang, kurz: Genau das, was ich erwartet habe, als ich sie bestellte. Es sollte eine Erweiterung zum bisherigen Gretsch Catalina Club Set werden. Diesem Anspruch wird die Standtom mehr als gerecht. Entsprechend gestimmt kann man so nochmal eine "Zwischengröße" zwischen Bassdrum und der kleineren 14x14" Standtom erreichen. Die Verarbeitung ist wie von Gretsch gewohnt hochwertig, besonders in Anbetracht des Preises. Solide 7 Lagen Mahagoniholz tun ihren Dienst einwandfrei und sind äußerst Stimmstabil!
Das Catalina Club Jazz Set hat eine 18x14" Bassdrum und 14x14" Floortom dabei, weshalb der Schritt, eine zweite Floortom anstelle einer Hängetom (z.B. 10x6", da 12x8" Hängetom bereits montiert war) zu wählen vielleicht nicht unbedingt auf der Hand liegt. Für mich persönlich funktioniert diese Kombination einwandfrei! Kurzum: Absolute Kaufempfehlung meinerseits!
