Ehemals gestartet mit E-Gitarre entwickelt sich bei mir langsam doch ein gewisser Hang zur Westerngitarre - ganz ohne Verstärker. Dafür habe ich nun schon sein einiger Zeit eine Guild OM250CE Reserve - handlich und doch mit großem klarem Klang (Fichtendecke/Palisander). Auf der Suche nach gleich guter Spielbarkeit aber wärmerem Grundton für ein paar Stücke bin ich hier mit Blackwood Decke und Korpus fündig geworden. Die gezeigten Bilder - hier bei Thomann als auch auf der Guild Homepage - drücken nicht annähernd aus, was für ein phantastisches Instrument geliefert wird. Top verarbeitet, sieht super gut aus, und klingt genau so, wie ich es mir als Kontrast zu Fichtendecke/Palisander gewünscht habe. Nachteil: Die Saiten sind zwar gut aufgezogen, aber nicht meine Favoriten - als E-Gitarrist benötige ich halt eine Nummer dünner.. Und über Pickups bei Westerngitarren reden wir lieber nicht - aber das wird ja auch nicht benötigt.
