I've been using Elixir strings for years now. I like the "feel" and sound of new set of strings, but I am too lazy to change a set. So coated strings are ideal - they keep that new set sound definition for longer than regular strings.

HB coated strings feel good and they sound good. I never made a direct comparison between a new set of Elixir and HBs, I go by the "gut" feeling, and that one is good, recordings sound good.

If you are a recording artist and do a lot of studio work, then you probably have your strings game already in order. If you are like me, ie. not a professional, these strings are ideal for practicing and recording as well. Ideal for that guitar that you forgot you have, but still like to take it out of the case and play it once in a while.

Given the price and performance it's now a no-brainer for me - I can get 3 sets of these strings, instead of 1 set of Elixir strings. Sound and durability so far, seems to be 80%-90% of what I've seen with Elixirs.

I added some sets of these on to an order. I like Elixer Polywebs on some of my guitars, and find them to be very tonal and long lasting. When I saw these HB Strings at the low prices, I wasn't expecting them to measure up to the Elixer strings. Needless to say, I was very pleasantly surprised. The HB Coated Strings are very high quality. They sound great, and last longer than non coated strings. A lot of players I know don't care for coated strings. Some say they aren't as chimey on the treble side and they sound dead on the bass side. That's simply not the case based on what I hear when I play them. These sound every bit as good as my favorite non coated strings. The big advantage to the coated strings is simple. They last longer. Less time changing strings and more time playing. These HB Coated strings hold tune real well after being stretched a few times too. If you're on the fence, I would not hesitate to try a few sets. I am happy to have both Elixers and HB's in my string drawer.

Just like the 9's , these are great for home use, especially if you have multiple instruments.
The only issue I have with these and PLEASE THOMANN; FIX THIS - the loop holes at the end are too narrow for Bigsby type tromolos. I would love to put these strings on all mine and my customer's instruments, but the bigsby pins do not fit through sadly.

The sound is good and does not change a lot with time. It is a tad bit duller than D'a brand coated ones, however the price difference is huge.

Tuning stability is also good with these, they do not stretch and are very stable in my experience.
