Quality stand
WillO 05.05.2015
I bought this more than 5 years ago and it's in perfect condition. I've used it for ukuleles, mandolins, violins, banjos and mandolas, nothing's ever fallen off it. When folded out, it's got a wide base and is extremely stable.

It's quite heavy for its size, very solid and still a little bulky when folded up, it probably won't fit too easily into your instrument bag, calling it "Travlite" is a little misleading.

Other than that, it's great.

I have this stand for years on my desk now and it is amazing. Very stable and it can be easily adjusted for every ukulele size.

MS
Not for F-5 Mandolins!
Michael S. 639 15.07.2024
I was eyeing this product for months, then once it was in stock, I jumped on it. Finally a stand designed for folk instruments in which my F-5s will sit without wiggling around or stupidly falling out of.

Sadly, this is not the case. As the stand is not adjustable, the place where the neck should rest is too low for the neck of the mando to sit in - it is stopped from doing so by the scroll of the F-5 bumping up against the stand. Bummer!

Honestly, this is just a fancy stand for a ukulele. I imagine it's good for that. If I had an A style mando I would try it in there too. It's too small for a banjo (which actually sit just fine in a regular guitar stand), as for a violin, there is nowhere to place the bow. So what folk instrument is it really for?

Still, despite it's complete lack of ability to be adjusted, it is very stable and compact. All in all a well made stand, if indeed tremendously one-dimensional in it's conception.

It's going back to Thomann!

Compact and stable stand not just for travel
sac_pandabear 01.02.2023
I have 2 of these, one housing a mandolin, the other a concert ukulele.
I have found it extremely stable, the foldability for travel being a great benefit. The stand is a little too big to put into a large pocket of an instrument case, but it is light enough to add to a strap or carry by hand. For taking in a vehicle, it is very compact and space saving.

I use this for a main stand at home as much as travel. With the instrument on, it shows the instrument off well and lets me grab those few minutes in the day for practice without worrying about storing it otherwise.

It is primarily for the smaller instruments, I have an octave mandolin, which whilst it would hold the instrument nice and stable, it is a little wider than the stand is designed. The front round protectors can be adjusted for different depths of instrument body.
Overall, a great quality stand, I now have 2 and would happily buy more when the need arises.

Hercules Stands Travlite Folk Instrument Stand

The stand is light, compact and easily transportable. It can be adjusted to the correct size, which was key for me as I needed a stand to hold a Cigar Box Guitar which I had built for a college project recently.

perfect stand

I use this for a banjo and a mandolin. Folds up really small, and fits in the instrument case. Its really though and would buy it again. Also doesn't damage the instrument in any way.
