I installed this on my Frankenjazz and now can't live without it. I play with a cover band where I regularily need to go below E due to changed keys. This is where the Xtender comes in really handy.
I can tune the detuned note with the screw and usually have it in low B or C. I have managed to detune it to A but e-string is too light to really vibrate that low.
Also I use it a bit like Michael Mandring on solo pieces where I play harmonics on top 3 strings and use e-string as an alternating bass note.
There was a slight problem with one of the rivets extending a bit too long on the other side but nothing a little filing could not solve.
All in all a great product. I'd recommend this to all players who want to extend the range of ordinary bass guitar.

There is too few measurements, based on you can make decision, does it fit to your instrument or not. The manufacturer does not provide them, its not Thomann's fault. But service in Thomann is quite slow. No wonder - to my every single question anwers a different person.

Everyone need this!

I installed different Hipshot D-tuners on 3 of my Fender basses. They are amazing. Hipshot has a video on Youtube about how to set these up correctly, go watch it! Be sure to check the main screw from time to time, to see if the string is still in tune when downtuning. You can put a tiny bit of Threadlocker to prevent movement on this screw too.
Only cons would be the price, I hope these get cheaper over time.
