Looks amazing, plays decently

Visually it looks like a RR1. It definitely doesn't play like a RR1 but it is a pretty good guitar for my purpose of playing for fun. Decent sound, decent neck and awesome finish.

Surprisingly good

Even though I'm aware of Jackson's reputation for serious QC issues on their lower end models, I really wanted a Rhoads, so I ordered this one. I was prepared for some major QC complaints and possibly a return.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that the QC on this one was almost perfect with a few very small exceptions - a few very small blemishes on the fretboard binding and a couple imperfections on the edge of the yellow paint.

My biggest issue is that the guitar is uncomfortable to play sitting down without a strap. This was expected though and it's inherent to the Rhoads shape. Another thing I don't like is how light colored the fretboard is - the wood has a washed out greyish-brown hue which doesn't look good with the gloss black paint. I plan to remedy this with a black stain at some point.

I would also replace the gold hardware with black and install a Schaller FR - the overall build quality is good enough to to make serious upgrades worth it.

In conclusion I'm satisfied with this purchase.

Nice guitar

nice solid guitar, looks and sounds great.
Out of the box tho, it desperately needs a fret level, crown and polish. Add a good setup and its a peach

Good build, very bad tremolo. Desparately needs setup out of the box

By buying this guitar you'd be basically paying for the Seymur Duncan pickups (which are actually great), the high-quality neck-fretboard, and headstock tuners/locks.

Unfortunately, the tremolo they chose to use on this is EXACTLY the same as the one on the JS32 (which costs less than half the price of the RRX24). Only difference is that this one has "FLOYD ROSE" engraved on it. It is really exactly the same, except for the engraving.
Is is not brass and will surely eventually break.
But the biggest downside is that the SOUND QUALITY is greatly affected by this chose of tremolo. The Seymur Duncans offer a lot more potential.

Experienced technician recommends to get the Gotoh GE1996T-36-G, which perfectly fits this guitar. It will completely change the sound. And it is brass.
