Ein Klassiker über Klassiker.

Auch wer mit Jazz gar nichts am Hut hat kennt bestimmt viele der unzähligen Cole-Porter-Klassiker wie "Night and Day" oder "All of You". Dieses reine Playalong-Book bietet 20 der unvergessenen Songs aus der Feder Cole Porters. Anleitung zum Improvisieren gibt es keine, wohl aber sehr gute Playbacks, die nicht nur Laune machen, sondern von der Stilistik genau ins Schwarze treffen. Man fühlt sich beim Spielen wie in einer guten Jazz-Kneipe mit cooler Jazz-Combo.

Die Songs selber sind nicht zu schwer, sodass man mit diesem Buch viel anfangen und üben kann, wenn man anfängt, auf seinem Instrument den Kinderschuhen zu entwachsen und in das weite Feld der Improvisation vordringt.

Wer mit den Playalongs aus dem Hause Aebersold bereits Erfahrung gesammelt hat, weiß die gute Qualität zu schätzen.

Alte Schinken - gute Übung

Die Stücke sind ganz schön alte Schinken, aber als Übung wirklich gut zu spielen. Besonders die Begleit-CDs machen Spaß. Dass man die Saxophone plus Klavier/Flöte oder Gitarre mit dem Buch spielen Kann ist super für kleine Jam-Sessions mit Freunden.
