Got these as my first real studio monitors. They sound great at both low and high volume. I use them in a room that is 6 by 7 meter. I have them on the high shelf of my studio desk. They can be turned upside down, and I did this to get the tweeters to be at ear-level. This, plus adjusting the dip switches on the back of the speakers, really improved the sound. They sound great on their own, but a subwoofer is a great addition to these, even though they are quite beefy, since it still adds that little extra punch to kick drums or basses. They are huge, so make sure your shelf is deep enough. They are very quiet when no sound is playing; no hiss or noise. Only small gripe is that I wish you could rotate the Kali logos when using them upside down. :) Overall, very satisfied with this purchase!
