I use this stand for my cajon front microphone Shure SM57. I have the mic elevated using K&M 20002 26cm extension rod (shame there is not a 20cm version, whch would fit into the SM57 poach). When I first put these components together, I noticed the 3 legs are a bit loose compare to the nut holding the extension rod, which caused the setup rather wobbly, especially considering the SM57 is quite heavy piece of kit. First I thought it won`t work, but after examining the stand I realised that the screw is not squashing the legs to the stand very well leaving there a small gap causing the wobbliness. It was not possible to tighten the screw more. I found a small diamater, but thick washer (approx 1,5mm thick, similar diamater to the screw head) and re-installed the screw.....and voila, it became super thight.
One note to the SM57. Its holder is a bit strange in the way where it actually clamps the microphone - i.e. right at its very end. This way and particularly with the small stand, it causes quite an unbalance. I have microphone holders AKG SA 63 (rated for diamaters 30-37 mm) and K&M 85070 (rated 34-40mm) - when used instead of the original Shure clamp (the AKG seems a bit neater in my opinion), the microphone can be pushed back to make the setup actually pretty stable.
I give 3 stars as the stand did not come stable in the first place, but would give 5 if it came with the washer. I like it fits into the SM57 poach and is very lightweight.
