The LD Systems Maui 5 Go 100 B is a compact column PA system that comprises an 8" subwoofer housed in a bass reflex enclosure that provides plenty of punch together with a line array of three 3" mid/high speakers that are equipped with powerful neodymium magnets. The system features an integrated lithium ion battery, which makes it perfect for use in settings where there is no mains power connection available, and the specially developed system of multi-pin connectors means the system can be assembled without the need for cables (also perfect when the user wants to keep their PA inconspicuous). Operation is also simple thanks to the easily accessible controls and status LEDs located on the top of the base unit.
At 200W RMS - which represents a maximum SPL of 120dB - the LD Systems Maui 5 Go 100 B easily has enough power for an audience of around 40 people in indoor settings such as private parties or small gigs, events, or functions. Should more power be needed, the output signal can also be fed to a second PA via the system output located on the rear of the base unit. The Maui 5 Go 100 B's frequency response ranges from 50Hz to 20kHz (the upper limit of the normal range of human hearing), and the system is also equipped with a DSP developed in-house by LD Systems that controls functions including a limiter, equaliser, and compressor.
Singer-songwriters can use the LD Systems Maui 5 Go 100 B for rehearsals and small performances by simply plugging their guitar into the Hi-Z instrument input, and it can also be used as a monitoring system when performing on larger stages where a PA system is already provided. Solo entertainers in turn will appreciate the active system's jack/XLR combo inputs, which can receive both mono and stereo sources and also allow a microphone to be connected for speaking and announcing. An additional highlight is the integrated four-channel mixer, which will prove to be a valuable asset whenever additional audio tracks are integrated via Bluetooth or the 3.5mm auxiliary input. And speaking of the integrated Bluetooth interface: This of course makes the Maui 5 Go 100 B ideal for garden parties, where any desired music can be played from a smartphone.
LD Systems originated in Germany and is a brand of the Adam Hall Group. The company’s ambition is to give musicians the freedom they need to effectively express their musical ideas on stage. To achieve this, LD Systems has developed products that include affordable speaker series, wireless microphones, and in-ear monitoring systems. LD Systems attaches great importance to the durability and user-friendliness of its products. Right from the development stage, attention is paid to simple, intuitive, and effective operability. LD Systems also pays great attention to the design of its equipment, so that the technology is not only acoustically but also visually attractive. Accordingly, LD Systems has already been awarded several renowned design prizes.
The LD Systems Maui 5 Go 100 B will cut a fine figure in every application that requires a compact and space-saving PA system: It will easily fit into an intimate home performance environment, while its power will also be easily sufficient for pub gigs by singer-songwriters. Readings or recitals at the library or bookstore are also an ideal application for the Maui 5 Go 100 B, which can also be installed as a permanent fixture in chapels or church halls (the white version of the system will perhaps fit better into these settings, however). When used as a monitor system, on the other hand, it allows musicians to keep an eye (or rather an ear) on what is going on, even on stages where conditions are cramped and a mains power connection is not available. To make optimum use of the battery life, the user has three different modes to choose from: Lounge mode (which provides up to 12 hours of operation), Live Music mode (up to six hours), and DJ mode (up to four hours). And if volume is kept within reasonable limits, the battery will last for up to a whopping 20 hours.
