Nice add-on for the drummer
Felix987 27.12.2015
I've been testing the LP Tambourine for a few weeks now and I think this should give me a good basis to rate this product.
First off: think about your style of playing resp. the genre that your band plays. You won't need that little beauty, if you're playing for a metal act. On the one hand, it does not really fit to that style (ok, subjective opinion!) on the other hand, the tambourine's sound level is simply too soft. That might also be the only real downside I could discover for myself. The "bells" could be a little bit heavier to produce a more dominant sound. For a smooth Jazz-groove, it might be perfect, but if you want to integrate it into a rock-groove, you should be aware not to hit too heavy!
However, the system of this tambourine really consoles me for that! As a drummer, you do not always want to take off the tambourine, once you play a song, where you don't need it and for the next song, you have to remount the tambourine on the hihat again. This tambourine is the solution to all those problems. Just press the black button on the top of the tambourine and it's completely locked, literally nothing is moving. Press the button again and you have the full sound going. Beautiful!
Besides that, the whole instrument is pretty lightweight, so there is absolutely no influence on the height of the top cymbal once you open the hihat.
In addition, the tambourine looks pretty cool with that nice red color.
So, for me as a drummer in a (blues-) rock band, this is the perfect way to make a nice groove even more interesting. I would definitely buy it again!

The build appears to be good, and it is marketed as if you can click it off and play it as an actual instrument independent of the hi hat pedal, and a few of my friends have broken them doing this, so try not to play it that way.

You simply turn it off with a push down, and it will make a click sound.

I personally think that the click sound is too loud and you can be heard changing between on and off, something I don't personally like.

It isn't a loud as some of the other hi hat jingle tools out there, but the ability to turn it on and off is the main selling point. If you want a louder sweeter sound, get the brass jingle version of this, brass jingles are slightly fuller in sound compared to nickel jingles.

It looks cool, and it doesn't add a ton of weight to your hi hat pedal.

It will record well enough, but acoustically, it lacks power.

Lastly, if you a small hi hat rod, you won't fit this on unless you have your hi hats at the lowest possible level on your hi hat stand, so make sure you have a long enough hi hat rod.

It's just okay
The Nadir 01.02.2021
If you are well into tambourines you have to come up with a different method. This one holds up to the rigors of bashing and banging so it is sturdy but make no mistake the tambourine sound is way too weak. It will get lost especially if you are using larger drums. They should re-design this with two levels of discs. It is okay to have around as is and that's it.

Lound and cutting. Being able to turn it off and on is a great bonus and works seamlessly.
