The Mellotron!
Mellotronic 22.02.2020
Forget about Markus Reich's Mellotron (he just bought the trademark, but forgot to put love in his product). The Memotron should deserve the original Mellotron trademark as stated by streetly electronics (the original Mellotron builders). The Fatar keyboard feels just right, the sounds collection is incredible and the device is easy to use. But the best part is that it HAS the real mellotron sounds! This unit has been designed by Klaus Hoffmann Hoock (RIP) and he KNEW how it had to sound. Lots of tweakable effects and some features (halfspeed, the tone filter which is basically a resonance filter) allow customizable incredible sounds. Built in a white metal casing (powder coated) with 37 keys instead of 35 in the original Mellotron, incredible frames (the moog/orchestra split is to be damned for) and many more features make this piece of gear an absolute must have both for studio and live usage (Ask Rick Wakeman, Klaus Shulze and the actual English progressive scene). Thank you Manikin Electronics for this wonderful dream machine.

Great sounds
Mellotronman 11.05.2019
I use the Memotron in my home studio, where I also have a Mellotron M400. If I do a comparison between the Mellotron sounds and the Memotron, there is not a great deal of difference.
I like the simple controls, mirroring the M400 control panel. Love the sounds.
I also like the metal construction, great quality.
Navigating the menus is easy and intuitive.
I like the onboard effects.
It is expensive. Although not as expensive as the M400.
Compared to popular synths, it does take time to navigate to load another frame.
I’ve not used MIDI on the Memotron, so I can’t comment.
Overall, if you want the Mellotron sounds, then I would recommend the Memotron. The samples are taken directly from the output of real Mellotrons, not samples of the Master tapes. This gives the Memotron an authentic capability.
Like this a lot.

A brilliant product
Robert8557 17.05.2016
As good as I had hoped...
I used to have a Mellotron M400 and it became too heavy for me and the Memotron m2k is a perfect replacement.

The sound quality is ideal and it looks great....I am very pleased with it.
