Bought these because of the Brian May endorsement, but I must say that I am somewhat disappointed. The sound is different from regular strings to be sure, and I liked the sound of these when they were new.
But they wore out very quickly, already after some weeks the gold had worn off in places where I play alot, exposing the nickel (?) base. At about the same rate the sound got duller and duller, faster than a nickel string wears I would say, so after a month it was definitely time to change them. Most unpleasantly my fingers started smelling of metal quite strongly after playing the worn out strings, something which I haven't experienced with other strings.
I will not go for these again.

Very good on a Gretsch

Great on a Gretsch, not sure I would want them on any other guitars.

Some of the best strings available.

They don't feel like any other string and seem to have a tension of their own. I have always found them extremely comfortable and very reliable, with a great, bright sound and good calibration - as well lasting longer than most.

A void

Tried on 3 guitars before cutting in half and binning. What a joke. Magneic coils do not like 24 carat gold in my opinion. I was under the illusion that paying top dollar will get top results but I have learned otherwise in this case. Very dry and lifeless sound, no musicality. Makes my top guitars sound like cheap c**p. Nickel rules, gold sucks and also falls of very quickly with ugly results.
