I've had this darbuka as to start with along another frame drum. Apparently, it needs serious tuning, as the sound is noticeably unclear and one can still how the skin is unevenly tightened to the shell. This makes the bass sound less deep than wanted and the slap sound tends to be rather a muted tak with a sticky echo heard while lifting the hand.
The weight of the darbuka is ideal, compared to other darbukas that are double as weight as this one. The design is uniquely beautiful, for sure.
