After being quite frustrated with my student model wooden recorder, which continually argued with me over high A and higher, I decided that perhaps moving to a better instrument may improve my playing enjoyment. I spent a vast amount of time combing through reviews of various soprano recorders of differing makes and woods and after careful consideration I settled on the Mollenhauer Denner Soprano in Palisander, which promised the ease of response in the higher register and the quality of tone that I sought. Slightly doubtful of the former, I immediately unboxed it and was able to play the most delightful C major scale through the two octaves, effortlessly and with the most beautiful clear tone, very round and sweet. I then played a piece of music which I have struggled with on my old recorder - the Denner responded to every demand, and I have to say that my playing improved from the moment I picked it up. It is also a very visually striking instrument, with superb wood grain. I could not be happier!
Regards delivery, the recorder was ordered on the 19th of the month from Germany and was delivered on the 26th of the same month here in Australia, safely and in perfect condition. On every account my expectations have been exceeded!
