Excellent instrument

Beautiful instrument, quite heavy but well balanced when played sitting with the foot piece or standing with the extendable spike. The neck sling is hardly necessary. Keys are well placed and not a strain if you don't have large hands. The lower keys provide logical fingerings (unlike some other large recorders) and it has an additional split key for Eb which gives you two fingering options for that note. As does the additional key for the little finger L hand. The recorder speaks well throughout its range, inlcuding the highest notes. Intonation and tuning is good and overall the recorder has a very pleasant, well rounded tone, earthy at the bottom end of the range, with sweet upper notes.

I was recommended to purchase from Thomann and have been very impressed with their customer service and communications. Delivery from Germany to the UK was very quick and I was sent emails informing me at every stage of the process.

THe service from Thomann is first class and this item arrived within a few days.

It is beautifully made and has a very sweet tone in the upper register and weighty tone in the lower register. For such a large instrument it is impressively responsive with the player able to manage faster intricate passages and have the instrument obey.

I'm very happy with this purchase.

Der Grossbass fügt sich sehr gut in das Ensemblespiel und gibt eine harmonische Grundierung. Er spielt sich leicht, der tiefste Ton ist anfänglich ein wenig schwierig zu greifen, denn die dicht beieinander liegen Klappen für den kleinen Finger der rechten Hand sind wirklich gewöhnungsbedürftig. Gut sind die Stützmöglichkeiten für das Spiel im Sitzen und im Stehen, das Instrument liegt trotz seines Eigengewichtes immer locker in den Händen.
