I jjust bought a second unit to use it in my hi-fi system. There is no contest, even with very good USB implementation in DAC's or sources, the MC3+ USB always increases sound quality. Must have for files playback.

DSD supporting is great!

Very rare USB interface which supports DSD input altough that the DSD signal must be converted into PCM unless the Reclocker can not function. I have already got a MC-3+ without USB. I guess both product are great and indentical in most part except USB I/O section after compared. Actually, the reclocker operation and the word clock generator inside make the sound more musical, densive but not quite dynamic. However, it gains more than it losts. Actually, when I synchronize it by an external master clocks, e.g. I have Mutec iclock and Grimm CC1, it performs great. In conclusion, a good tool at a good price.

Ich verwende das Teil als USB-SPDIF-Interface zwischen Macbook und DSP-Monitoren. Die Klarheit in den Höhen ist sensationell. So wenig Digitalzischeln hatte ich noch nie. Räumliche Darstellung und Transparenz ebenfalls außergewöhnlich gut. Ich hätte einen so deutlichen Effekt gegenüber meiner Halide-Bridge mit externem Netzteil nicht für möglich gehalten. Der USB-Port funktioniert übrigens in beide Richtungen. Ärgerlich: Upsampling ist über USB nicht möglich, das muss man den Computer machen lassen. Zu diesem Preis unverständlich. Schade, dass ein Schaltnetzteil verbaut wurde, ist halt kleiner und billiger und für alle Länder zu verwenden, klar, ein hochwertiges Netzteil mit Trafo hätte aber vermutlich noch etwas mehr gebracht, es gibt diesbezügl. auch schon Beiträge im Netz. Jedenfalls ist ein externes Netzteil mit etwas Geschick recht leicht anschließbar, ich werde es mal ausprobieren.
Der Preis ist - für ein USB-Interface, wenn man es nur als solches benutzt- natürlich hoch,für die Qualität aber angemessen und vermutlich sogar konkurrenzlos. Die Verarbeitung scheint gut zu sein. Der hässliche LowBudget-Look wird allerdings HiFi-Freaks abschrecken.

I use the part as a USB-SPDIF interface between Macbook and DSP monitors. The clarity in the highs is sensational. I've never had so little digital hissing before. Spatial representation and transparency are also exceptionally good. I wouldn't have thought such a significant effect was possible compared to my Halide bridge with an external power supply. By the way, the USB port works in both directions. Annoying: Upsampling is not possible via USB, you have to let the computer do it. Incomprehensible at this price. It's a shame that a switching power supply was installed, it's smaller and cheaper and can be used in all countries, of course, but a high-quality power supply with a transformer would probably have brought a little more, there are options in this regard. also posts on the internet. In any case, an external power supply can be connected quite easily with a little skill, I'll give it a try. En USB, j'ai noté une remontée des hautes fréquences, avec des basses très sèches, ce qui donne un côté spectaculaire et détaillé à l'écoute, mais manque de naturel. Tout semble plus rapide, plus punchy, mais manque de fluidité et de chair.
En optique j'ai trouvé le résultat nettement meilleur, mais au fond la différence avec une liaison optique directe sans l'interface est si ténue qu'à l'aveugle je ne pense pas faire la différence.
Pour le reste l'appareil semble bien conçu, pratique à l'usage, du matos sérieux. Probablement utile pour connecter de nombreuses sources entre elles. Peut-être judicieux si on reclocke le DAC avec un câble BNC, je n'ai pas pu tester, mon DAC n'ayant pas cette possibilité.
Du coup, je dirais que le produit est utile si on a vraiment besoin de l'USB et qu'on a besoin de "secouer" un système jugé trop mou. Sinon, je ne recommande pas.

In USB, I noticed a rise in high frequencies, with very dry bass, which gives a spectacular and detailed side to the listening, but lacks naturalness. Everything seems faster, punchier, but lacks fluidity and flesh. In optics I found the result significantly better, but basically the difference with a direct optical connection without the interface is so slight that blindly I don't think I can tell the difference. For the rest the device seems well designed, practical to use, serious equipment. Probably useful for connecting many sources together. Perhaps wise if you reclock the DAC with a BNC cable, I was not able to test, my DAC does not have this possibility. So, I would say that the product is useful if you really need USB and need to "shake up" a system considered too soft. Otherwise, I don't recommend.
