Neutrik makes good stuff
kxszander 05.02.2020
I bought about 20 of these when I decided to make my own patchbays both for live rig and for my studio setup.

Does precisely what it needs to do; use M3 rack screws to fit a 19"-rack backplate with the powercon or XLR-plugs of your choice, fit with optional multicolor Neutrik labeling sheets, and color-coordinate those with optional coding rings for your Neutrik plugs. Pristine rigs for the win!

These are a bit pricy for what it is – and for my personal taste. Color labels, coding rings, adapters set me quite a bit of money. But I don't think there is an equally effective alternative out there, so this is THE way to go.

A time saver.

Having built numerous XLR patch bays, I would recommend anyone building one with the Neutrik feed-through connectors to buy some of these, as they are by far the easiest way to secure the connectors to the panel. They save a lot of time and frustration by not having to use fiddly nuts on the back of the panel. Just make sure you buy enough of them.

Something small but nessecary
Anonymous 08.12.2015
I never knew I even needed these until it came to designing a back panel for a rack unit. The holes have m3 threads on them, and are a lot easier to use than fiddling about with M3 nuts.

If you're creating a d-type rack panel, these are a must!

A great help

Don’t by a d-norm socket without getting also this. No more fiddling with nuts. Just screw in your M3 bolts and you’re done. Only thing: buy one or two more than you need, just in case you strip a thread..
