N
A phenomenal ocarina
Nadyej 21.08.2018
I'm pretty bad at in depth reviews, but I'll try my best here because I think this ocarina deserves it. The ocarinas I own are; Songbird(Stein) Allegro, Stein ACB, and a STL Aria so I'll be comparing it to these in the review. The Asian ocarinas have a sort of a wisp to it on all notes, which is the opposite for the C3, this thing has the purest tone I've heard even on the high notes. I'm pretty sure it doesn't even need an acute bend, playing the 3 highest notes with the ocarina parallel to the ground and they come out clear as day. Breath requirement is a little more than my other Ocs. Craftsmanship is impeccable on the C3, I'm pretty sure it was made for my hands as my left pinky falls perfectly into place very comfortably. It does have a little more heft to it then my other Ocs, probably has to with it having thicker walls. I recommend this as a first oc or even as a second, third, or 12th! Shipping to the USA did make it a bit pricey but I think it's worth it. ?

F
Very outstanding.
FPCNL 16.08.2018
All the Rotter ocarinas are, usually, very good and underpriced instruments. The Signature Series adds something more at the level of playability and high level efficiency. The C3 (Alto C) Rotter Signature Series Ocarina is one of the very few Alto C ocarinas not requiring (at all) acute bend, and gives to the player a better and more satisfactory experience than a lot of other more expensive and celebrated Alto C ocarinas from other brands. It is a top level ocarina, with a very good sound. Surely Hans Rotter is a very skilled and experienced ocarina maker who deserves admiration.

PS
Fine ocarina to learn with
Pai Sho 12.08.2021
This is my first ocarina and I feel like it's an easy to use ocarina. The sound quality sounds good, and it fits really well in my hands.

However, I feel like the very low notes are really hard to hit, and that the least amount of breath 'overblows' the ocarina. This could be because I'm just not experienced enough with it. This could also be the case for any ocarina, as I can't compare it yet since this is my first one.
