Dominants on a budget
Rad Rayupov 16.12.2020
About 5 month ago I decided to learn to play violin and bought a budget violinset. Everyone knows that the strings on budget instruments aren't that "good" so after some research and because of tight budget (of course) i found these.

Pros: For me personaly, strings have juicy sound, soft timbre - could say Velvetish type
Cons: Not enough ringing tone because of soft timbre, difficult to play forte sections and what I have first month or so is when strings get out of tune - G, D, and A became flater and E opposite, sharper.

Overall, Tonicas are a great bargain at half the price of premium strings. They're sonically kind of in the middle of the road. I would highly recommend picking a set of these up, definitely worth a try

S
Best students strings for price
Slavko.Nemec 03.10.2019
Pirastro Tonica we all know as good students strings and they really are. It's must be update for cheaper Instruments, it's improve sound and playability. They are huge improvement after steel strings. Your violin, yours or your child fingers (and ears) will be very gratefull! They are also incredible on the old German manufacture instruments, they give really maximum for the price! I recommend Tonika set with gold E string or just buy extra gold string and you will see different. (Well maybe not directly by beginners but when cat screaming beginner sound is gone it's time for gold E. It's reduce whistling).

PB
Nice sound but, E string weak
Piers B 08.04.2021
G to A nice sound coupled with a new bridge on a cheep violin. Been playing Violin and Viola for years in youth and touching base again.
Unfortunately for the E String, on installation, tensioning it up to pitch, it snapped. Not impressed but the other 3 strings give a good tone.
