Slightly disappointed

I bought this because I was looking for a dynamic mic switching device to enable me to use one mic in two separate channels (set up differently for making announcements and for playing sax). It will work in this way although I appreciate that this isn't how you are really supposed to use it, but I didn't see anything else on the site that looked as though it would do the job. The problem is that the switchover to output 2 is "momentary". That is, you have to keep your foot on the switch when using it. The obvious thing in my situation would be to use output 2 for the announcements in between the numbers, and play the sax through output 1. The trouble is, I can be quite verbose when I get carried away, and I didn't fancy having to hold the button down all the time I was talking. I'll keep the device anyway because it appears to be very well constructed, and I am sure I can find an appropriate use for it in some playing situation. Unfortunately I don't have a sound-engineer who I can switch channels to talk to, as I'm not famous enough. Maybe I missed something when reading the description of this box on the site, but I don't recall seeing anything that mentioned it working in this way. I still love Thomann though and it won't stop me shopping with you guys.

O
I am glad with this device
OleksandrB 23.07.2014
I have bought this one for communication with my band on stage.
So I've did so that when I push the button the second channel goes only into monitors.
This device is pretty heavy for the size and I like it. It has Full-Metal body.
The thing is that they could do better is noiseless switch.
Also you must know that its not recommended to send phantom power to this device, because of that it starts to click to speakers when you push the switch button. So prevent using phantom power.
So in total I am glad with this device for this price and would recommend it.

Great for church worship leaders
Anonymous 26.09.2016
This is the 2nd one of these that I have bought and I'm already planning to get another.

Silent switching between the two channels and great sturdy construction.

I use one as a music director to split who I'm talking too, by routing the two different channels to certain monitor mixes.

My 2nd purchase of these is so the worship leader quantum their vocal mic and just talk to me about where they want to go and give instructions to the tech team.

If your band are in in ear monitors this is a fantastic solution for silent talkback to the band. And don't think you are restricted to wired microphones. One of them is linked into the output from a radio mic so the leader has the freedom of the stage but can just walk over to the pedal when they need to talk to me.

Well worth every penny.

The momentary switch was also better than a click switch as we tried that but people kept forgetting to switch back to channel 1 after talking.

Perfect as a loop pedal companion
Alex6690 07.11.2015
I use this to switch my main vocal microphone from my live PA output to my boss rc300 loopstation and it works perfectly. Just remember to turn off any phantom power from your other devices or you'll get a loud pop. The unit feels very sturdy and well made so I'm sure it will stand the tests of a heavy gig calendar.
