Built like a tank and perfect for reamping.
Fintan Campbell 18.06.2020
I'm using this currently to reamp guitars for our first album. Instead of spending money in the studio waiting for the perfect take, we can pre-record the guitars using a DI in our rehearsal room and if we want to tweak a tone, use the studio time to do that.

I'm currently using it on the flat eq setting and yes it does ever so slightly, almost imperceptibly, effect the tone, but it's a nice sound - it feels warm and rounded like a nice preamp. It's completely unnoticeable as soon as you use any effects on the guitar and to be honest, if you're reamping then you're tweaking the tone anyway. I haven't had a chance to try it on bass yet, but I assume that's where perhaps the low pass filter would come in handy.

It's also allowed me to experiment with using my guitar pedals as vocal effects units as well which is opening a world of possibilities. I sometimes feel the plugins in DAWs are a bit sterile, or ludicrously expensive but I've spent hundreds of pounds on guitar pedals that have incredible sounds, so now I'm able to use them to achieve the sounds I want.

A super useful and sturdy little box!
Anonymous 25.08.2016
Radial make great gear and this sturdy little re-amp box is no exception.

Being a passive unit it's very easy to use - quite literally just "plug in and play". Most importantly it sounds great. The transformer is pretty much transparent when running the signal through more characterful amps and stomp boxes. On a cleaner signal chain it sounds smooth with maybe a touch of 'vintage warmth'. Very subtle and doesn't alter the original tone in any noticeable way.

I use the JCR mostly for re-amping guitars, but I've also used it for connecting guitar FX as channel inserts on a mixer - a task it performs nicely.

Sure, it doesn't come with lots of features... but it does what it needs to do VERY well; it sounds great; and it's built like a small tank. If you're in the market for a robust and reliable re-amp box, then in my experience this is it. Buy with confidence!

Radial JRC remix recorded sounds with my guitar effect stompboxes
Oliastro 09.05.2021
I use Zoom L12 and apogee element 88 to track live rehearsals or solo home recordings of my electric guitar. I wanted to interface with my guitar effects after recording to remix en create new sounds. So I needed to have a device that made my signal to go from line level or headphone level (on the zoom L12) to go to instrument level. This device can do it perfectly. Really fun and intuitive workflow. As a stage technician I appreciate the quality of Radial DI boxes. I have very good experience with the online support of Radial ENG. If I go for this needs today I would go for EXTC-Stereo Guitar Effects Interface & Reamper from Radial because it is stereo and has more options for creative use.

Excellent

This is the 2nd Radial reamper I bought.

There was a reason everybody raved about the original Cuniberti transformer and design. The sound is full and well matched gain-wise. Plus, with the filter switch you can get any type of sound other reampers give. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
