Maggini's viola model from 1610 is very special. Brescia's luthiers often set the sound holes a little higher than was later customary in Cremona. As a result, the bridge slides along and the bridge position is shortened by a few millimeters, which is also the case with this model. The viola is therefore very comfortable to play despite its 16'' body. You benefit from the large body volume and still have the easy playability of a smaller viola - due to the shorter string length.
