Floyd Rose Original

Schaller need no introduction to the world of guitar hardware, it's German engineering at its finest. There are three things that mean something to me when I look to buy a guitar; Made in the USA, Made in Japan or Made in Germany! If you are of a similar age to myself, you'll remember Kramer, the original hard rock guitar company from the USA who used Schaller hardware including pickups on many of their guitars prior to 1985. I've been lucky enough to own quite a few 'vintage' Kramers from the early and late '80s, all fitted with Schaller Original Floyd Rose bridges, not the Floyd Rose II also made by Schaller.

The Schaller Lockmeister is more or less a Floyd Rose Original without the Floyd Rose branding. Engineered to maximum quality from German steel with a 42mm brass sustain block, R2 Schaller locking nut, posts, springs, claw, in fact everything you need to install the bridge. I've used mine quite a lot, you can dive bomb, pull up, really abuse the bridge and it still stays in tune without any problems. These bridges are built to last with case hardened steel knife edges, quality steel saddles, they are cheaper than a Floyd Rose Original in price only, the quality is exactly the same in my opinion.

Don't settle for an inferior licensed copy made of chocolate, this is probably the best replacement for a Floyd Rose Original i.e. like for like size/shape/look. The Gotoh 1996T is probably the best licensed Floyd Rose on the market in my opinion however for me, the Schaller is a like for like replacement for the Floyd Rose Original without the price tag!

Great upgrade

Upgrading your 80’s hair metal guitar? Obviously you need to go Gold hardware so that all the middle aged men in the audience will swoon as you fumble Van Halen solos! Honestly a great piece of hardware and works beautifully

A
Schaller verhilft zu neuer Gitarre
Andreas271 08.07.2014
