Maybe not for the distortion crowd
Anonymous 06.11.2015
Got this as a set with the APH-1N, which I love, but I have to say I'm less enthused with this one.

To be fair there's nothing wrong with the pickup, it's just as advertised: clear, clean, low output pickup for someone who wants to get distortion from the amp instead of the pickup. If that's what you're looking for, definitely go for it. It'll fit the bill nicely, and build quality is great.

I, however, ended up discovering that it wasn't quite what I wanted after all. It sounds very nice through effects, but on its own it's just a bit too thin and tame for my taste. I'll probably end up swapping it for a '59 or JB.
