Good for Bass too
JD Herrera 06.12.2019
Seems like nobody here reviewed this pickup for bass guitars, so I'm going to do it.

I have a Danelectro Dano 63 long scale, my pickups had problems so I've decided to try these Seymour Duncans. They describe them as a direct replacement with classic Danelectro tone. Since Dano Basses and Guitars have the exact same pickups they're supposed to work fine on my bass as well. And they do indeed, of course. Good typical Dano tone, Seymour Duncan construction quality... I honestly don't get why there's no soldering scheme for any bass guitar model at all in the instructions. Not that it's absolutely necessary, I simply replicated the original wiring and works perfectly but I was expecting at least an explicit confirmation these pickup were meant for bass as well, which can't be find in the product page of the manufacturer. Nonetheless it works fine. The only con I've found is the same con of the original pickups (when they used to work). On the E string the sound is too muddy and a bit lower while all the other strings are loud and most importantly bright and sparkly as they're meant to be. That's not a big issue as I've solved everything by using a compressor that evens the levels and somehow also brings back that sparky tone.
Recommended also for bass guitars, but with awereness of how this works.

Too electric.
Peter R. 438 19.01.2022
A great pickup, but too "electric" for me.
I'm relying on an almost acoustic sound, this is a very good electric sounding p'up with plenty of gain, compared.
After great electric results, I refit the old p'up and regained the almost acoustic sound.

Noticeable improvement
madmusician 08.12.2019
A clearly better pickup for the (cheap) reissues of the Danelectro models. Unlike the original ones (at least in my 59), these pickups are wax-potted. Materials used, sound and overall quality is great.

Great
corsair 29.04.2020
I replaced the stock Danelectro pickups in my Danelectro '59M Spruce. The improvement was obvious, warmer sound and better clarity, recommended.
