Modern iteration of the Shure SM7B

As a modern iteration of the Shure SM7B dynamic speech and vocal microphone, the Shure SM7dB not only features a winning combination of cardioid polar pattern and active preamp, but also enables a straightforward connection to a computer to provide rapid availability for recording and streaming applications. Sound and volume settings can be optimised courtesy of the control options on the back of the SM7dB, while the bracket mount allows the microphone to be mounted on any microphone arm and aligned accordingly with the sound source. In summary, these features transform the Shure SM7dB into the perfect intuitive microphone for professional applications.

Featuring an integrated preamp

The Shure SM7dB's integrated preamp provides a selectable preamp gain boost of either +18dB or +24dB, which can be set on the back of the microphone, to deliver the most suitable level for recording and broadcasting applications. The broad and largely linear frequency range of 50Hz to 20kHz ensures a precise sound reproduction, which also enables both instruments and electric guitar amplifiers to be miked to optimum effect. The preamp bypass switch on the back of the microphone can also be used to deactivate the preamp, which is a new addition to this version, for users wishing to revert to the traditional sound of the SM7B microphone, while the overlying switches can be used to control bass roll-off and also to increase mid-range frequencies and thereby boost presence for greater vocal clarity.

First-rate recordings

In addition to being a great choice for simple setups in which speakers and singers alike can focus fully on their content, this dynamic microphone also features electromagnetic shielding against broadband interference emitted by DAW computer screens and first-rate hum compensation for interference-free recordings. The low inherent noise produced by the Shure SM7dB microphone also helps users to achieve high-quality recordings, and further noise interference in the form of impact noise or plosive sounds in the signal is also largely prevented courtesy of the pop filter and pneumatic shock absorber. The microphone’s rugged construction and effectively protected microphone capsule for outstanding reliability and guaranteed long-term use add the perfect finishing touches to the design.

About Shure

The American company Shure began developing microphones during the early 1930s and is one of the pioneers of the audio engineering sector. Models such as the 55 Unidyne - known to many as the "Elvis microphone" - and the SM57 and SM58 which appeared in the mid-1960s are still ubiquitous in live sound production today. They enjoy cult status among musicians and technicians alike. In the 1990s, Shure introduced the first wireless microphones and in-ear monitoring systems and became a market leader in this field. In addition to microphones, Shure offers a wide range of earphones and headphones for studio and live use, as well as various accessories.

Easy mounting for flexible applications

In addition to a pop filter, the scope of delivery also includes a brass reducing thread, which is used to mount the 20.6cm-long Shure SM7dB on a corresponding microphone arm. This adapter can be tightened using an optionally available screwdriver or an ordinary coin. The microphone should then be directed at the sound source at a set distance of between 2.54cm and 15cm, depending on the required proximity effect. Where necessary, the microphone bracket mount can also be removed for mounting on a conventional microphone stand and then realigned accordingly by inverting and rotating it so that the back of the microphone is the right way round for reading. Users can also purchase the optional Shure A7WS foam windscreen if the included pop filter is not sufficient.

Ikonisches Mikro mit neuem Feature
Johnny Lee 09.12.2023

Cumpriram a promessa!

Recomendo o mic!
