Solid case BUT for that price ...
Chuck.wk 07.09.2020
Case is very solid and it's a great alternative for big-square bricks like cases. You can save some space in your touring vehicle although it could be a little bit smaller in some places (It fits well with my epi flying V and there is some space left for guitars like Dean's V I suppose).

There are 2 big cons that I can not ignore in this review (considering its price).
- The top lid closes involuntarily no matter what. To take out your guitar safely you need to hold top lid because it's always falling (and it may scratch your guitar).
- It's bad balanced. Handle is in wrong place. When you are carrying your precious piece of wood it's always lean to front. Forget about going upstairs without supporting upper part of case or uncomfortably tighten up your muscles you event don't know about in your wristle.
- And 1 more little cons - after 3 years of active usage 2 out of 5 locks are feel like "used" - I mean when I lock the case sometimes I need to place it manually (pressing down from above when nothing is blocking it underneath) after it "clicks"

Pros are of course:
- Internal and external material is very solid and securitive.

BUT... for that price I would expect rocket-nasa-case rather than bad balanced always lid-closing solid case. Unfortunately except original cases (which are free from cons above ) for guitars there in no as solid alternative as this.

I would recommend this case partially. Great for secure your guitar. Not good at all for transporting in long distances without any vehicle and convenient use when taking out stuff from it and using the inside pocket.

Strong, good catches but little bit oversized for Gibson V
Eugene M. 06.04.2017
This is a good case. Strong with secure catches. These are probably made to fit all brands of Flying V, Dean, Gibson etc but the cut out V part is a bit larger than the V on an actual Gibson V. Easy to fix with some extra padding you can stuff between your guitar and the case cavity, then guitar nice and snug and if anything more secure.

But I previously gave this case 5 stars but this is prior to noticing a very bad flaw in the design in that the back of the Gibson V headstock is lying on the floor of the case making contact with the rear wall of the case (if it is lying flat on ground and lid open I mean). This means in fact that if the case falls the V will get shock transfer to the crucial headstock/neck join area where Gibsons are known to crack if they receive a knock. It is a great case only for that but I only use it to store the case but will not use it to ship, or transport to a gig in a band van etc.

Forget cheaper cases
Marton Hellstörm 09.08.2017
You have a Flying-V you wish to take care of, but first you don't wish to spend a lot on a quality hard case. It arrives and you try to justify all the compromises. You send it back and order the real thing. Yes, I'm talking about the SKB 58 V-Style Case. Trust me, you won't regret it! I've been playing guitar since forever and owned a few models here and there, but hands down, this is my best case so far. Did I mention it fits in the trunk? It does. Go for it!

Not bad at all.
Smiffy 27.08.2021
SKB V styled case is more than acceptable for any V shaped guitar.
Didn't quite fit as snug as the new Gibson case I recently acquired but..more than acceptable.
