These mouthpiece guards don't tear easily and work great on all of my saxophone / clarinet mouthpieces. However if the mouthpiece is a bit scratched, the guard won't stick properly and it would look a bit ugly.

The protect my mouthpieces

I use the mouthpiece cushions for all of my mouthpieces and i never had the problem, that my teeth commes through and damageing my mouthpieces. I can recommend this one specially because you almost cant see (and feel) them.

I'd say can't beat it for the price, Work well and as they need to be. But at least in my personal experience they do seem to be flaking off quite a bit faster then other guards I've used, so not my personal choice but as I said, they're cheap and they work as advertised so I'd say try em out and see if they work for you. Still a great product.
