The Syrincs D8 Column is an affordable full-range column speaker system for small-sized venues, which offers a considerable range of features that users would normally only expect to find in PA equipment of a higher price category. With its comparatively large number of inputs, this PA system offers multiple sound shaping options, including a reverb effect, an equaliser for each of the two mono channels, and a high-quality power stage for a powerful sound. This compact column speaker system takes next to no time to set up, and it can be easily transported to the next venue thanks to its surprisingly low weight and the carrying case that is included in the scope of delivery.
The D8 Column’s base comprises an 8" woofer with a 1.5" voice coil and delivers an output of up to 120W RMS, and the top unit is equipped with a spacer and six 120W 2.75" satellite speakers for frequencies starting from 200Hz. This small-size PA system with a Class D power stage requires 250W, its audio frequency range stretches from 55Hz to 18kHz, and its sound pressure level reaches a maximum of 121dB. The connections are located on the rear side of the base unit and comprise two XLR/jack combo sockets and two stereo inputs, one providing two 6.35mm jack sockets, and the other a 3.5mm jack socket and a Bluetooth connection for incoming signals. Each of the two mono channels is equipped with a two-band equaliser, which allows users to add the integrated reverb effect. The base weighs in at just 10.6kg, and the combined weight of tops and spacer amounts to 3.5kg in total.
This specially designed PA system for small-sized venues is very easy to use, even for beginners. Its modular design and wireless connection between woofer and satellites allow the D8 Column to be set up in seconds at an optimum height for either a sitting or a standing audience thanks to the spacer. With its two mono inputs that can be flexibly used for dynamic microphones, guitars, and line signals, it also offers a sufficient number of inputs to cater to the needs of solo artists or duos. This column speaker system will also convince singers with its reverb effect, and entertainers touring on their own will be able to carry the compact base section (510 × 405 × 510mm) without any problems. Users can also connect it to a tablet PC for playback via the mini jack socket, and fitness instructors will find the Bluetooth option extremely useful for wireless music transmission over a distance of up to 10m. What is more, the on/off switch makes it perfectly easy for bands to control power consumption and save energy in the rehearsal room.
Syrincs is one of Thomann’s in-house brands and most notably offers a range of speakers and the corresponding accessories for all manner of indoor applications, and its products have been an integral part of Thomann’s range since 1994. Active and passive full-range speakers as well as various wall and ceiling-mounted speaker solutions are at the core of the Syrincs range. As one would expect, these products are made by experienced manufacturers and offered at attractive prices without compromises in terms of quality. Anyone who is looking to provide background music in their store or place of business or to give a restaurant the right ambiance should therefore definitely consider Syrincs as the way to go.
After assembling the D8 Column speaker system, the user next selects the type of incoming signal for the two mono channels, i. e. mic, guitar, or line signal (such as a keyboard), via the switches and adjusts the individual signal volume with the corresponding channel level controller before setting the master volume via the master level controller. Those who want to address a seated audience can simply assemble the base and tops without the spacer, and users scaling the ladder and performing to bigger and bigger audiences can expand the D8 Column by adding a second D8 column speaker to create a true stereo PA system. This is easily done by setting the switch on the left-hand base section to Stereo Left and connecting its Link Out with the Link In of the right-hand system.
