Manoeuvrable and stable
Hatcher 26.06.2017
I use this stand to hold my snare drum (rather than toms or any other drum).

I instantly loved the ball joint on this stand which means that you can adjust the angle of the snare through a continuous range of motion. I haven't owned the stand for long (about 1 month), but I have had no problems with the durability of this ball joint so far and it feels solid.

The asymmetrical arms look strange at first, but I immediately saw the benefit in them when placing my snare into it. I have had problems in the past with a Gibraltar snare stand that only allows my snare to be orientated in one position on the stand due to the lugs imposing on the arms- however with the Tama stand my snare fits perfectly. The retractable foot spikes are a nice touch, too.

Overall an extremely stable stand with some nice innovative features. I have never been disappointed with any Tama hardware purchase, and this is no anomaly.

The best snare snad I've ever had!
Anonymous 13.02.2016
TAMA is one of the best drum manufacturers making heavy-duty and great quality hardware, I think many of you would agree, but with their Star line they've outdone themselves again.

This HS100W is no exception being unrivalled snare stand in my opinion. It's got many great features, which I couldn't find in other snare stand models or brands.

The best feature for me is the 'Omni-ball Tilter' which allows you to set virtually any position/angle. It means that you can make micro-adjustments unlike the toothed tilters. It's even better than toothless titler which can be found in HS80W. I admit that it might require some getting used to a different way of tilting your snare drum, but once you get the hang of it, it is simple and quick.

Another nice feature is the unique basket which is super-easy to set up. Actually the whole stand is very intuitive to handle, whether your're setting it up or folding it. It even folds the way that it somehow takes less space when competely folded.

The build quality is the best!

TAMA is undoubtedly the greatest innovator in drum hardware. Thanks Thomann for supplying it.

Great but heavy
Anonymous 18.07.2016
If you want a top notch snare stand, this is it. It can be adjusted quickly and easily into any position due to its ball joint. Also, it's got easy to adjust snare arms.

This stand is heavy. This is great of course if you're looking for stability. This stand won't move at all. But if you're looking for lightweight stands, this is not it.

Nikel
Heorget 21.09.2023
The quality of the nikel is very bad. Got 5 of these stands in my living area which is protected and insulated from unwelcome temperatures. I own them brand new less than a year, but the nikel got destroyed and mugged and i was cleaning them once in a week. Very bad quiality of nikel, and i told that to thomann support and they said i need to be charged if i want a repair.
