Like most slide players, I seem to have a collection of used, semi-used, underused and never-again-used finger sized tubes. I thought maybe it was time to get serious, research the issue properly and invest £29 in something that would solve all of my issues once and for all.
But I found this slide underwhelming. No doubt it is expensive to ream out a bar of brass to turn it into a bullet nosed tube, so the cost is understood. Trouble is, I didn't find the end result worth it. None of its features made using it any more successful and I found it a little short and a little thin. I also find again and again that, for what I want to play, my pinky finger is just as important as any of my others and I felt very restricted using it.
I'm also hopeless at controlling pinky slides it seems, and I have returned to using a homemade Hoolahan type slide with more weight to it, that fits more happily on my ring finger, can be easily flipped back round on itself for maximum finger dexterity and which I find more accurate and trouble free to use.
Probably, like all of us, we have our own needs and music styles that we wish to play and sounds that we wish to make. And one person's ideal setup will not suit another. So this slide may suit you and your guitar setup, neck and own personal hand geometry. It didn't suit mine.

finally suitable slide for me
jolter 16.12.2023
Very good device to use on pinky. Other fingers need probably some other measure.
It is light, as I like. Right lenght also. Sounds good with some extra sizle as guitar slide suppose to.
I think it is very good model to begin with also because of being light weight.
I would recommend for sure but as always - this is so very individual and subjective!

I compared some slides for the little finger, i.e. hybrid playing. This one is the best for me. The Ariel Posen part is a little smaller, shorter, narrower on the inside and is too long for me. I lose contact with the tip inside when I buckle in the joint, and then the whole statics are no longer correct. If I don't use the other fingers, I cleverly turn the long side down towards the strings, then you can get over all the strings and it takes less force to stay in contact. The round tip is good for less chatter, and the thing sits better because it's closed. Otherwise, for me the part is the equivalent of the previously favorite 212 Dunlop in glass (in long 211). Glass slides are more forgiving, perhaps better for entry, but brass sounds more complex to me. Rougher and gentler at the same time, sounds good with pure nickel strings. The weight is just right. It's pretty heavy. It doesn't have to be harder. Well, maybe it helped someone...

best slide !!best slide!!

After years of research and testing, I finally found my ideal bottle neck! it is narrower than average on the inside, so it does not move, and the small notch allows you to bend your finger, facilitating hybrid playing with the other fingers of the left hand! The ideal slide for me! and of very good quality.
