Quite comfortable keeping my guitar in this
bogdandorca 18.02.2019
I'm currently comparing this with the Gibson case for e-guitar and the materials used feel a lot cheaper.

I'm quite sure it will protect the guitar in case of small to medium impacts but I wouldn't go further than that.

The guitar fits quite nicely inside and it also has a drawer for storing various accessories.

The one flaw I managed to find so far is the plastic coating that is supposed to imitate leather. It doesn't and it feels like the crappy plastic from the dashboard of some low-cost cars.

I would still recommend this as even thought the materials feel like they are low quality, unless you're plating the actual case (I don't think it sounds that great) it shouldn't bother you. At the end of the day, you put your guitar inside, throw it in the car and get it out when you need to.

Great large case, good protection and value for money.
Anonymous 29.09.2016
Great Jumbo case, very good value for money and offers good protection for everyday travels without going the more expensive ABS route or taking the risk on a soft gig bag. It's quite a generic size and shape, should fit most jumbo guitars. My takamine jumbo fits reasonably loosely but there is plenty of padding inside the case and the guitar is certainly well protected in transit. I'd have no worries at all about its safety in a car boot, train, carried by hand, etc, but not quite enough confidence to throw it in the hold of an aeroplane, it would need to be made of stronger stuff for that.

Nice faux leather finish, good deep
Internal pocket, keys and and strong clasps mean this case can take a lot of punishment. I've had this model for several years now and it's protected my main gigging guitar to and from many shows. It's picked up wear and tear from life on the road, but hasn't shown any problems in build quality or how well it works.

A little on the big, chunky side, but after all it's a case for a jumbo. If you're looking for good protection and decent build quality you could do much worse, especially for the price.

G
Thomann Jumbo Acoustic Guitar Case - nice, but could be more secure.
GlennM 24.09.2013
I was advised by the good folk at Thomann that this guitar case would fit the jumbo electro-acoustic that I was purchasing at the same time, and they were, of course, correct. In fact, it fits beautifully.

The exterior is finished with a tolex-type covering that appears to be thick enough to resist most scrapes and knocks, and is finished off with attractive white stitching.

The carrying handle is comfortable, although I would have preferred it to be situated a few inches lower, ie on the outside of the upper bout rather than between the bout and neck, but that's probably just me!

The case has four latches in total, three on the handle side and one on the lower bottom bout. The middle of the three latches also has a 'lock' with supplied key. However, the 'lock' is easily opened with a nail file or similar small blade or screwdriver. I would hope that in the future a better, more secure 'lock' could be used, even if it added a little to the price of the case.

On the subject of security, I noticed recently by accident, that with the case closed, I could easily insert my fingers into the case on the hinge side. (I didn't want to damage it by trying the get my whole hand in!)
It appears this results from the case being fitted with only two hinges that are some distance apart.
It may be that the shape of the case limits the number of hinges, in which case, I would suggest an additional latch between the two, preferably lockable for added security.

The interior is very nice, finished with a heavily padded velvet-like fabric and the usual neck support/accesory compartment, which provides ample space for packs of strings, picks and other necessities.

I wasn't expecting Fort Knox security or the ability to withstand being run over by a steamroller, so I'm pleased with this purchase and for the price being asked for this case, it's a good buy. However, if the security issues were addressed for a small increase in price, this would be a great buy!

Nice for price

This is a very nice case with good overall finish. The lockers don't look to be very sturdy but since I did not ravel with it yet I can't give more information about that. Overall, for the price, is a good product.

Good for storing and occasional travel
BentoBaruch 23.06.2023
The case, certainly for its price, is useful to protect your instrument. The jumbo guitar, an old Ibanez, fitted nicely and the case did what it was supposed to do, to move it from one house to another. It's also perfect to safely store the guitar vertically and keep it protected from dust. However, I wouldn't like to carry it around all the time as it is rather heavy. If you tour a lot, you probably better buy a gig-bag or lighter and sturdier case. I didn't notice the unpleasant smell some user reviews mention. All in all, a very good product for its price.

A case for everydqay use
Terry B. 20.05.2013
Its a case for a guitar and it does the job well; doesn't look great but looks solid and protects well. So far has lasted very well, got some knocks, scratches but the locks and hinges are still in good order and guitar inside safe and sound. Good value for money

Buy it with a guitar and it's a good case and a great deal.
12Kevin 28.06.2022
It's a simple, sturdy hard case. It's roomy around the headstock for strap and accessories that don't fit in internal pocket. When I ordered it along with a guitar, it was a better case at a better price than I could find in the US, even when you add Int'l shipping.

Good quality case for a fair price
Anonymous 28.11.2016
I use this case for my Takamine Jumbo and it continues to serve me well as I travel around Europe as a gigging musician.

Pros:

+ easy to operate
+ lots of space inside for capos, strap, humidifier, etc etc
+ is lockable
+ comfortable carry handle
+ sturdy enough for tour bus travel or rail travel

Cons:

- it's big, but then so are Jumbo guitars...
- the latch on the bottom left can occaisionally open up
- heavy

Overall it's very good value for money. If you're looking for a case for a cheap to mid-range Jumbo then I would recommend this case, but for more expensive guitars this might not be robust enough for your needs.

4 stars!
