A light mallet
Anonymous 19.11.2014
This is a very light mallet. I should point out that I'm using it on a drumset, a reduced one used for some acoustic jamming and gigs, but I'm a drummer and as such have a somewhat "heavy hand". The role I have installed for these is some atmospheric cymbal sounds and low volume rumble on the toms. It works fine, but feels a bit weird since it is so thin in my hands (drumsticks are usually twice as thick). This helps you unconsciously to play lightly with it and since this is what I wanted I'm satisfied. I cannot speak for the endurance of the head because I haven't had it for long, but for now it's holding up.

Great practice sticks!
BenP 15.04.2014
I bought these because I was playing percussion in a production of Miss Saigon. As I am not a percussion player (My main instrument is tuba) I used them to practice all the tuned parts. They are worth buying for quiet practice, but are not loud enough for a performance.

They are built very well, I didn't do any damage to them over a month of playing, and I have used them on an orchestral bass drum and cymbals. The only problem I had while using them on the xylophone was that a white powder started to come out of them and leave marks on the instrument. The marks where easily wiped off, but it's still a bit odd!

I never got to try them on a tambourine, but I'm sure they would do the job.

Overall, well worth buying for any percussionist as they are very versatile.

Very nice beater
Gilderflower 30.06.2019
I really like the feel and the weight of this beater but has since been stolen.
Must get a replacement just the same.
Good value for money.

Great for light kit work
Anonymous 02.04.2016
The soft felt head make these great for lighter tom work and cymbal swirls on the kit. The handle is a little thin for my liking, but using a bit of stick tape makes them far easier to hold onto.
For the price, you cant really go wrong, the quality is just as good as some of the more expensive brand equivalents.
