Being used to ABS road cases, I am not a fan of the exterior finish - the brownish tinge and the look of a thin film with microscopic bubbles - but that is irrelevant. What counts is that it holds together and that it protects the contents.
This case, as with the Axiom case I ordered from Thomann, is a great value. A competing ABS-clad road case would cost nearly twice as much but I would be getting less bang for the buck. It is sturdy and well-built.
Having had both cases for a while now, I'm satisfied that they will hold up, so I am ordering a third Thon case, this time for my Montage 8.
Note that I have been buying road cases since 1982 and (as long as you do not count the exterior surface material) the Thon cases are the best I have found for the price. I recommend them.
