I bought this as a replacement for my previous stabilizer which finally fell apart after nearly 15 years. It's well-made enough, cheap enough and easy enough to fit (you have to remove the base-plate first). Used properly this does give good forwards/backwards stability for the stand - although sideways stability isn't so good as say an X-stand if you have a longer 88-note board.
