Pointless product to an extent...

I'm thorn about the positive sides of having this product. It works and the stick is preserved from rim shots. However the barrel ends gave up way before the body (from regular cymbal work) so... what the point if the stick is done anyways... Aside from that the stick balance is change considerably in a negative way (at least for me).

Schützt die Sticks, Protects the sticks

Ich habe die Stick Shields auf meine Vater Super Jazz Sugar Maple Sticks ausprobiert.

Das Anbringen des Stick Shields war einfach. Dort wo man die Rimshots spielt einfach das Shield draufkleben.
Das Teil verlängert ohne Frage die Lebensdauer der Sticks. Vor allem wenn man viel und kraftvoll Rimshots spielt.

Einziger Kritikpunkt und gleichzeitig mein Grund wieso ich sie nicht nochmal kaufen werde: sie verändern bei leichten schnellen Sticks die Balance der Sticks.

I tried the Stick Shields on my Vater Super Jazz Sugar Maple Sticks. Attaching the stick shield was easy. Simply stick the shield on where you play the rimshots. The part undoubtedly extends the life of the sticks. Especially if you play rimshots a lot and powerfully. The only point of criticism and at the same time my reason why I won't buy them again: they change the balance of the sticks with light, fast sticks.

Da ich sehr oft Rim Shots spiele habe ich das Problem, dass die Sticks genau an der Stelle nach kurzer Zeit extrem anfangen "rumzuspreiseln". Das hat mich schon immer genervt. Deshalb habe ich mir mal 2 paar dieser Stick Shields von Vater zugelegt. Das Anbringen geht schnell und ist selbst erklärend. Die Shields tun genau das was sie sollen. Sie schützen die Sticks vor frühzeitigem zerspreiseln an besagter Stelle und verlängern somit die Lebensdauer der Sticks um einiges. Ich finde die Idee ist gut umgesetzt und würde sie wieder kaufen.

Since I play rim shots very often, I have the problem that the sticks start to "buzz around" at exactly that point after a short time. That has always annoyed me. That's why I bought two pairs of these stick shields from my father. Installation is quick and self-explanatory. The shields do exactly what they are supposed to do. They protect the sticks from prematurely falling apart at this point and thus extend the lifespan of the sticks considerably. I think the idea is well implemented and would buy it again.
