Fantastic sound, but...
Michele. 07.12.2022
the pedal sounds fantastic. saturation is creamy, little emphasis on mediums but sparkly and with MOD on bassy enough. Could be the only overdrive you'll actually need, and this is truer than ever BECAUSE.. because despite the buffered bypass, despite the modern construction, won't accept well anything before it. I've put several pedals upstream, true bypass or not, and the result is a little but evident loss in the highs on the Centavo. even true bypass pedals set to off do this. If you own two pedals that have this syndrome (i have several) you're stuck, in my case a fuzzface wants to be first, if i do so the Centavo results to be less sparkly, acceptable, but you won't get 100% from it. If i put the fuzzface after it, the fuzzface sounds oversaturated and unacceptable. So: put pedals after it, if you can.

J
Is it a Replica or a Klon Centaur?
Jangos 26.04.2023
I decided to buy it after a very long search..
Well this pedal i think is 99% of the original..
A very closed friend has the Klon,so i had the chance for comparisson..
The only small diference is the silicon diodes instead of the germanium ones,i suposse it has..
But for me is not a big deal and to tell the truth i like them more..
You can change them anyway if you have somebody who knows about electronics..Its not hard at all to find the Russian germanium 9 diodes..
I could do it but i like it as it is for now, maybe forever..
Plus the J.Becks mod it gets awesome and kind of unique..
Why to spend 3 to 7 K for a Centaur !! when you can have almost the same one in the normal price !!
Sweet tranparent sound even with max gain..
I am very happy with my purchase and i would never change my desision..
A blind buy for sure...

Best klon style pedal with easy availabilty in Europe
_Nikon_ 08.07.2023
If you're looking for a boost/low overdrive pedal with a Klon style overdrive, this is the one. At €120 cheaper than the J. Rockett Jeff Archer, the only con I could think of is the size of the tin. To me it's not an issue, but if you have a small pedalboard, it might be the difference between having the pedal of having to choose a small footprint pedal.

As for the sound, it does exactly what I expected of it, for my use. I wanted something that I could use both as a low overdrive for rythm and a boost for soloing. I just set it up for a low overdrive with a bit of a mid boost which works great for rythm parts, and just turn on the fuzz for a solo. It compresses the fuzz and balances the big low-end that fuzzes usually have. For my use, it's a like a two in one pedal, I love it.
