After years of playing different basses (Squier, Music Man, a fretless electro acoustic one and an amazing MTD 535-24L), I slowly sold them one by one and stopped playing. I then looked for an "easy-to-play" bass (no 5 strings anymore, no fretless, no huge body, not heavy, no cables needed) and found this one. Always loved its design. However I was very concerned about its sound. I don't really care about the electric side of it because I'm not planning on playing amplified at the moment. I'm not planning on playing with anybody either, not even unplugged. I was just looking for a uniform sound from the highest note to the lowest. I was concerned that the smaller bodies of these thinline wouldn't deliver that. I was wrong. It's absolutely fine. I hear everything I play, I can slap, I can play quietly. I hear the nuances. I can play high and go low and feel the contrast. The volume stays the same.
Yes it is less well finished than a 5000 EUR bass (simple build, the wood doesn't look that natural on some parts) but it is really enough for what I want to do.
To have a tuner in the bass is probably the best idea ever for the lazy player I became! I really have no excuse anymore, grab and play !
