Yamaha BEF-2 Extension Frame

I use it with SLB300.

It is a must if you want to get close to the feel of the "real thing". It deepens the instrument's shoulder that leans into your body, hence creating the illusion of having a thicker body. The neck's angle and distance change accordingly, and I would not want to play without it anymore.

It is beautifully made, comes with two screws and attaches in less than a minute. There are also two thin felt stickers that come between the instrument's frame and this extension, so that the two frames never grind against each other and (possibly) scratch the finish.

Why is this not a part of the original frame is beyond me. If we pay almost 4k€ for an instrument, this should already be in there. The price is steep, but a custom-made one would end up costing just as much, and would probably not be such a good fit.

The frame + extension still fit into the bag, although it now creates a bit of imbalance when folded. Also, this is now the widest thing in the bag.

Summary: absolutely necessary, no brainer.

Cette extension pour la contrebasse électrique Yamaha SLB-200 permet de retrouver la largeur des éclisses d'une vraie contrebasse, et donc les mêmes sensations de jeu (en matière de tenue de l'instrument) qu'avec une "grand mère" acoustique. C'est donc, à mon sens, un complément absolument indispensable à la SLB-200.
Il devrait même être donné en série avec l'instrument, pour bien faire, d'autant qu'il rentre sans problème dans la housse de cette contrebasse électrique. Malheureusement, Yamaha a fait le choix de le vendre en option… et en option très chère ! Ce prix-là, pour un bout de bois vernis et deux écrous, c'est quand même hallucinant ! Enfin, la qualité de fabrication est là (encore heureux). Il est léger, solide et très facile à mettre en place… Et je ne pourrais plus m'en passer.

Ich habe einen EUB der Marke Yamaha SLB-200 LTD PRO (also die Limited Edition). Fa. Thomann konnte mir die Frage, ob die Rahmenerweiterung BEF-2 nicht nur für den "normalen" Yamaha SLB-200, sondern auch für die LTD-Version passt, leider nicht beantworten, denn die LTD-Version wird dort nicht angeboten. Ich habe mir das Teil aber trotzdem bestellt, beruhigt durch die Möglichkeit, es notfalls zurückzusenden zu können.

Den superschnellen Versand durch Fa. Thomann - wie immer - möchte ich hiermit einmal lobend erwähnen!

Ein Zurücksenden war aber zum Glück überhaupt nicht notwendig, denn das Teil PASST auf die LTD-Version!! Ich habe das Fa. Thomann das dann auch mitgeteilt.

Nun aber zur Rahmenerweiterung BEF-2: Das Teil möchte ich nicht mehr missen, denn es bringt den SLB noch mehr in die Richtung eines Kontrabass. Es vermittelt ein erhöhtes "Korpus-Feeling", d.h. man fühlt richtig den Kontrabass, dessen Korpus ja doch deutlich dicker ist als es der normale SLB-Rahmen simulieren kann.

Das Extension Frame passt sich hervorragend an den Original-Rahmen an, es ist mit 2 Schrauben absolut sicher durch die vorhandenen Aufnahme-Bohrungen mit diesem verbunden. Die Verarbeitung ist hervorragend. Einfach spitze!

Also: trotz des recht hohen Preises eine lohnenswerte Anschaffung!
