Purchased the EAD10 as I wanted a convenient way to record my acoustic drums whilst allowing for some effects to be added without to much hassle. Instead of having a 5+mic environment, this module is plug and play and produces a fantastic sound. Also the USB recording feature is handy. The drum sounds are clean, dry & overall very professional. With additional triggers you can expand the sound palette and finish off in your favourite DAW. No real draw backs, check out the many YouTube videos and you see what you get. Maybe 1 comment, would have been good to have midi in/out connections - also some of the triggering features can be subtitle, but than again the Thomann Staff were great in helping out - Overall good price/quality even if other solutions are available

I guess that was all I need

After a long research process, I bought this handsome gear. I wish I had bought it earlier.

Even if you don't have a very high quality drum like mine, you can take your music to the next level thanks to EAD 10. There is no need to repeat its features here.
While recording very easy, EAD 10 also feeds my creativity in the new production process. Sound more natural because of mics and trigger work together (Sustain and resonance etc.) . The variety of sounds and effects definitely makes my music more free. EAD 10 is well equipped, the rest is up to your skill!

This might be the best equipment I've ever bought for my drum.
I think EAD 10 is a more important instrument for drumming than drumsticks =)

Firmware updates are essential - this is not ready to go module for hybrid kits with mesh heads.
Bigbluescot 27.04.2020
Received my Module and triggers to convert my kit to a hybrid with silent stroke heads. Initially achieved very poor results with both the kick drum and snare sounding completely naff. Cymbals and toms were all good. After checking on line with various Yamaha user groups I was alerted to the need to update Yamaha module’s firmware with a Mesh Head patch. This was all a bit of a faff including rerouting trigger cables but was achieved with the kick and snare now good along with toms and cymbals. However the patch provides fewer preset sounds / scenes for hybrid kit and therefore I’m now working on user defined trigger settings to achieve a better range of scenes. With all the user input required to achieve optimal sounds the module should be priced considerably cheaper.

Great for practice, very easy setup & great sound
k3rn3l3rr0r 30.03.2021
I bought this unit for my practice drum set. It does what it says really very well. The setup is very easy and fast, everything works out of the box and the quality of coverage of the whole drum set is really unbelievable. If you look for "cheap" and easy way how to get your acoustic drums in your headphones together with some backing music for play-along, this is in my opinion the best and simplest solution you can get.

Pros: small, easy and quick to assemble and disassemble, works as advertised, much cheaper solution than to mic the kit the standard way
Cons: worse coverage of bigger kits (e.g. two floor toms, lots of cymbals), but that is basically not what this product is made to cover, IMHO you don't need to have big rig to practice and experiment

I'm writing this review almost a year after the purchase and I can totally recommend this to anyone who is not looking for a full blown studio drum mic solution.
