This is the black version of Arturia Keystep.
Main inspiration comes from SH-101 keyboard (same layout from F to C) which I really like and in personal play even makes more sense.
Sequencer is nice - incl. slide and divider and possibility to edit sequences on the the computer.
After editing one have to press SYNC and all data is being synchronized (similar as to iPhone with iTunes).
Biggest drawback is microUSB instead big USB typeB connector and absence of power on/off switch. Sometimes that weak micro USB connection is lost because of that and device needs to be reconnected. As a solution - magnetic contacts might help.

Great features for most setups
Christian3535 30.10.2018
I have a Novation Circuit but never really enjoyed putting notes in using the grid interface. I wanted a small keyboard that would allow me to do this and also allow me to change MIDI channel easily. This is where the Keystep comes in. It is really easy to use and small enough to be portable. There are a host of extra features that I love and will use a lot. Arpeggiator and poly sequencers are great. The sync features and Gate and CV means I can interface it with my old equipment so my ARP Axxe and SH-101 can do more. I personally hate Mini keys and this very nearly stopped me buying the Keystep. As it turns out these are slim keys so they are not as small as mini keys so even though I don't like the size they are very playable. It works well with Circuit and with all my other stuff I recommend it to everyone with a synth setup as there will be something useful to you I'm sure. It is a shame there isn't a visual feed back for the modulation slider as if you leave it up you can't tell so you need to keep an eye on it. No complaints at all apart from the slim keys not being to my taste. If a full size keyboard version is released I will definitely buy it! Also being black suits my colour preferences with my other gear.

Perfect addition to modular and semi modular synths.
falafel 19.02.2020
Having dedicated cv outs for pitch, gate, and mod makes this keyboard a perfect companion to any modular synth. Built in simple sequencer and arp both work great and are very intuitive. Very small for 32 keys (not full sized keys but big enough to be comfortable - grant it I have quite small hands). Keys are going from F to C not C to C like in most controllers which I also find very useful.
