Such an improvement
Anonymous 30.12.2014
I bought this to replace my bridge on my MIM jazz bass and It made such an improvement.

It made my bass a lot louder and in turn makes it more articulate.
I have tried basses with both this and a Badass 2 bridges and I would choose this everytime.

It increases the sustain of my bass a lot as it connects witht he body of the bass a lot better, as well as this it improved my tone so much that I abandoned the idea of getting new pickups for the bass.

I want to own one of these for each one of my basses they are just so good and very easy to instal!

My only problem with it is that a screw came loose on the bridge and and was lost forever on a dark stage but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Has added value to my instrument.

I spent a long time researching after market replacement bridges for my bass. I did not have any confidence in the original bridge. Over time the setting screws would loosen resulting in lowering of the height of the strings until they would buzz against the frets. Any sort of heavy plucking or slapping would exacerbate the problem making it unplayable after about 20 minutes use. I really couldn't wait to ditch the original bridge. So my research led me to Babicz. Solid cast metal, fully locking setting screws and easy sensitive adjustment with an allen key convinced me that this was the right choice. I ordered from Thomann and was pleased with what arrived on first sight. The Babicz is a very solid and weighty piece of hardware, a real step up from the original item which let's face it hasn't really changed much since it's introduction in the 1940s or 50s and today comes across as very primitive for a modern instrument.
The bridge was easy to fit myself and came with new screws for the installation. I'm no expert at setting up but found adjustment very easy with the included allen key. I was immediately impressed and even more so when after 30 minutes of punishing slapping and agressive playing, the bridge settings had stayed rock solid. The locking screws really had done their job.
Some months later I was still extremely satisfied with the way the Babicz had transformed the instrument and my new confidence in it decided me to get it professionally set up for the first time (including a little straightening of the neck) . The guitar tech (hi Kev) down at Denmark Street was quite excited to work on a Babicz bridge for the first time and thought it was very well designed. He whipped the bass into shape and i have never looked back.
I have had this Fender P-bass for about 18 years but the last 4 since i upgraded and then had it set up have seen me improve and enjoy playing bass more.
I do recommend the Babicz wholeheartedly if you are looking to upgrade from the original manufacturer's bridge (and maybe even if you are not). I am a little reluctant to order internationally but Thomann have always looked after my orders and I have every confidence in them.

Love this bridge
Anonymous 05.01.2015
I absolutely love this bridge. The action is a little harder to get low but I play quite hard so having a little higher action works for me. I put one on my Jazz Bass and it gave it 10 times more sustain and felt a lot more sturdy. I loved it so much that I put one on my 51 Precision. I now recommend these to everyone that will listen.
If I had to make one criticism it would be that on both of my bridges the A string saddle lock is a little hard to get the hex key in. Not a problem but if you must know anything bad then that's the only thing.

What an upgrade!!
Marcus8268 18.06.2014
I made a bold decision to exchange the original bridge on my '98 Fender Jazz Bass with a bridge from Babicz. Fitting was perfect and it was very easy to set it up to my liking. Over all, tonally it's way better now, with a much cleaner sound with absolute no string hizz or other tonal artifacts that may come from the original bridge. I'm not that an experienced player to say if the special "jazz bass" sound has gone missing or not, but I like what this bridge has done for my bass.
