Babicz FCH 3-Point 4 String Bass C

I purchased the Babicz Full Contact bridge for my Gibson SG bass as a direct replacement. It fitted perfectly. However, when restringing the guitar the bridge started lift up as the tautness of the strings tilted the bridge. This was due to the change in leverage made by the extended length of the bridge beyond the anchor points fixed in the guitar body. These original brass inserts were a friction fit and in my Bass they were not really a tight fit. However, I took the guitar to my local luthier, which just happens to be my brother. After some thought and discussing over coffee, we decided to epoxy resin the brass inserts back into the guitar body. After 24 hours we refitted the Babicz bridge and restrung the Bass with new strings and Hey Presto, one Thunderous Bass was born.
The moral of the story is to ensure all modifications are carried out by a Professional luthier.

I finally replaced the carbuncle of a 3 three point bridge on my Gibson Thunderbird with this bridge, having previously tried a Hipshot Supertone. This Babicz is light years ahead of the Hipshot in design and quality, it just drops straight in, set your preferred action and intonation, lock the saddles into place and away you go. Your old 3 point bridge will just be a bad memory, no more crawling around searching for your saddle after an on stage string break.

Die 3-Point-Bridge auf meinem Gibson T-Bird hatte mich schon lange genervt, aber die Babicz Bridge war mir, ehrlich gesagt, schlicht zu teuer. Erst nachdem der Preis in den Bereich meiner Vorstellungen gerückt war, habe ich mir das Teil dann bestellt. Eine klare Verbesserung der Gesamtlage, kann ich nur feststellen. Die 3-Point einzustellen war mitunter reine Nervensache, was bei der Babicz bequem und dauerhaft machbar ist. Die eingestellten Positionen brauchen kaum eine Überarbeitung. Zudem schwingen die Saiten in Verbindung mit dem Korpus ganz anders. Das stellt man schon "trocken", ohne Ampanschluss fest. Für mich lassen sich am Ende die Tiefmitten noch besser aus dem Bass kitzeln und wirken präsenter. Für den Gibson T-Bird kann ich das Teil nur empfehlen, ich bin damit absolut zufrieden.
