Really helped dampen the resonant frequencies of our building...
SoulWorks 21.05.2019
We use this product in our church building (built in 1800s with high ceiling, etc.). Before installing it, there were two or three frequencies that would resonant in the building, almost to the point of ringing in your ears (if that makes sense). We were able to use this graphic equalizer to reduce the troublesome frequencies, thereby greatly improving the overall quality of the sound (especially for music). We're very pleased ;o)

Value for money EQ
Pete-plays-guitar 12.04.2017
I use this in conjunction with a compressor for mastering (yes, there are still people mastering in analogue).

For the price you cannot really complain, you can cut and boost selectively in very fine detail. There are many EQ which cost many factors more, but I would hesitate to think that they are going to be much better.

The only thing I don't like about DBX boxes is that they don't have a power on/off button, so the unit is constantly on when the rack is powered up, and I can't see it costing much more to implement that. This is why it has lost a few stars from me.

Balanced connectors on the back is a big plus, usually limited to pro EQ models.

All in all don't really have any other bad things to say about the unit. At the end of the day it is far more organic than shifting virtual bars on your computer monitor and far more fun.

Highly Recommended

A
good value
Audun 17.09.2015
The build quality seems ok. I'd say this is a step up from behringer, but still semi-pro. I use these for fixed installations, and so far none of the 10 units I purchased have had any problems.

Sound quality is hard to judge, as I didn't do an A/B test With anything else. Noise floor is acceptably low.

I have tuned PAs in 10 different rooms (fixed installations) using these, and all bands do what they are supposed to, according to my Acoustic measurements.

Well priced, well built graphic
mr steve 14.02.2016
I really like these DBX units. They are very reasonably priced, but significantly better than other budget alternatives like the Behringer 3102 (which is very noisy).

The unit features a 4 segment level display, clip light, lit buttons for bypass 6/12 db range and low cut filter - it's very easy to see what's going on on the unit even in the dark.

The output level dial is very solid and will not move if you accidentally brush it.

The EQ sliders themselves feel solid and the centre notch is very definite so you know when the frequency is flat. The unit is quiet when adjusting each frequency - there is no noticeable noise or crackle as you adjust the sliders.

The unit has an IEC mains input on the rear, as well as balanced jack and XLR connections.

A great little analogue graphic!
