Super Distortion-F

Pretty much everything began with the DiMarzio Super Distortion. We remember the '70s: everyone wanted the fat, creamy tube overdrive, but this was only possible at downright harmful volumes (since the master volume control was not so widespread). Many pickups simply delivered too little output and sustain because the amp couldn't be sufficiently overdriven. But then, Larry DiMarzio built the Super Distortion, and thus the blueprint of all distortion pickups was born. Even today the SD sounds good: high output, combined with a significant increase in mids, makes any amp jump for joy. Even today, it is for many people the pickup for life. With the DP101 FBK, the Super Distortion is available for guitars with F-spacing.

P
very good pickup..

I've the Super Distortion in the bridge of my Tokai Love Rock (Les Paul copy) and it's perfect for that type of guitar and body material. It's paired with a DiMarzio Super 2 in the neck (non F SPACED) they compliment each other well.. when switching between pickups it's a subtle change between them in sound and tone.. The Super Distortion is great for that classic rock / heavy rock sound.. Think Def Leppard for lead sound and riffs.. As Phil Collen their lead guitarist has been using Super Distortion pickups since the 80's. You can't go wrong with a Super Distortion.. You may need to back the gain off as they're a hot pickup. Worth buying..

F-spaced version aligns perfectly with a Fender Bullet H2 bridge.
the overdriven tone is classic. splits well too. have many other options, but I keep going back to DP100.
aslo worth mentioning - have 3 of these in different guitars, coming from different eras - the consistency is amazing.

One of the most iconic DI Marzio pick ups, granting a very nice warm sound.
High output make it perfect for heavy rock and metal, but it sounds great for blues too.
With a coil tap or series/parallel switch it become very versatile and suitable for lighter music too.
