Dixon is a brand that has been long around, and sometimes they sell products that are made under different names as well.
They never have really bad stuff, but this is one of the higher grade clamps in their range.
Superchromed. Heavy.
I tried this out in comparison with the undestructable Tama MC5, and it does the job just as nice.
It's almost as compact (talking about millimeters difference in length here) and it even has spring action on both sides that feels solid.
Best thing: it also takes up to 12,7 mm (1/2") rods, while the Tama does not!
They both can handle the smallest of rods, even as thin as floortom legs, but the Tama MC5 will take a max. Ø of 12mm.
Take note that there are not too many clamps that take the whole Ø range of existing clamp/percussion rods up to 12,7 mm on both sides and are as compact and bomb proof.
