J
A quite good chorus pedal
JollyRoger 06.05.2014
A nice thick sounding analog chorus that will allow you to dial in the classic tones of players like Andy Summers, Alex Lifeson and Johhny Marr, just to name a few. I prefer to use this pedal most with a clean to mildly overdriven tone, the rate knob set to about 12:00 and the depth switch turned off. This setting gives me a rich, lush sounding shimmer for strummed and arpegiated chord progressions. With the depth switch engaged (in the "up" position), you can nail the tone on "Come As You Are". I personally think a little goes a long way when it comes to using the depth switch. But, if you are into a more extreme "sea sick" vibrato tone, the Neo will happily deliver. Just make sure you have barf bag nearby ;)

I don't hear a difference between this pedal and the Small Clone. I believe the circuit is the same or close enough as to not make any real difference. After you plug the pedal in, the foot switch will "pop" when you first step on it, but then it won't do it anymore after that, at least in my experience. Also, mine was clipping when I used a moderate to heavy pick attack and playing through humbuckers. All I had to do was turn the internal trim pot counter-clockwise a little bit until I no longer heard any clipping. Problem solved! And, there was no change to the effect's fundamental tone.

Great Quality, Great Sound!
Anonymous 17.03.2015
EHX have released this chorus as a smaller version of the famous ?Small Clone? pedal. I believe it is identical sounding in every way and is great for those with limited pedal space and players wanting to power it from a daisy chain AC supply. The quality of the pedal is great, much like every other EHX pedal, with strong construction and parts built to withstand long term use.

When comparing with other Boss chorus pedals I have used in the past, I much prefer the sound of this unit, which can go from a subtle soft chorus to a nice thick chorus, all the way to crazy modulated chorus sounds when using the depth switch. The unit reacts very well to picking dynamics, and suits both a single coil equipped guitar and hum buckers for a thicker sound.

For both recording and live situations this pedal works well, and the sound translates nicely at a loud volume which is not the case for other chorus pedals I have used.

I would definitely recommend as a budget chorus pedal for many different styles!

Neo Clone

USE :
I'm using it in Fx-Loop of my H&K Statesman amp.

PROS & CONS :
After watching many videos online,I decided to give this chorus a chance.I never owned analog chorus before and I was worried about a sound but when I tried this for a first time I was really impressed by sound quality from this little unit. This is excatly what I wanted.Really nice chorus that brings you back to the 80's power ballads.
With only one knob and switch you can really get some nice sounds there.I think I'll keep this boy for a long time.

QUALITY :
Like other Nano series, this unit is medium build quality but I really don't think I'll ever had problems with it cause it's in my pedalboard!

You'll hardly find chours in this price range that sounds so organic and authentic.Go for it!

SI
Classic Chorus tones
Sean I. 30.07.2020
This is a smaller version (in terms of footprint not functionality) of the Small Clone Chorus made famous by, amognst other, Kurt Cobain. Chorus pedals are often associated with 80s music and I can see why as you can dial in some classic tones but if you don't want to plant yourself in that era then, even with just a depth switch and a rate dial, you can get a variety of sounds. I really like what I can get out of this pedal and am very pleased with it. In terms of build etc it is Electroharmonix so built like a (small) tank and there aren't a load of complicated settings. If you want a chaorus pedal then this is a very good choice.
