Great sound, aesthetic flaw

Like the sound a lot. Brings a nice warm sound out of my new bass drum. Been using the 2cm muffler which is working great; with no pillow in my bass drum, I get just the right amount of tone vs muffling. A little afraid to play hard on it but so far so good.

The head itself looks great. For such a beautiful head though, there's an unfortunate nitpick - they put the barcode and all the ugly printed info on the metal rim of the head right over the Evans Calftone text. So if I put on the head right side up, with the text right side up and the "Evans" brand text in the top middle, like it should be (rather than sideways or upside down), I have to look at the barcode the whole time I'm playing, which spoils the look. It's the same on the non-EMAD version, which I have on the resonant side. Barcodes everywhere, brings the whole aesthetic down. Really can't believe they'd allow that to happen to such a beautiful head.

Macht ordentlich was her auf der kleinen Bassdrum

Ich habe das Fell auf meinem Tama Club Jam aufgezogen und es holt wirklich ordentlich was raus aus der kleinen (und besonders flachen) Bassdrum.
Es lässt sich vergleichsweise einfach stimmen und macht sofort Laune. Durch die Oberfläche sieht es nicht nur schön und vintage aus, sondern hat auch einen etwas zurückhaltenden Click, was sehr gut zum Sound passt. So wird's noch etwas runder.

Hier und da empfinde ich aber als störend, dass der Schaumstoffring auch Geräusche macht und quasi "raschelt". Im Mix des Gesamtsets fällt das praktisch nicht auf, aber einzeln gespielt hört man es zumindest hinter dem Set. Ein Mikro in der Bassdrum wird es aber wohl nicht wahrnehmen.
