In the purest tradition

acoustic-electric guitar Fender CD-60SCE Blk WN

For all those who associate Fender with electric guitars: Yes, Fender also manufactures acoustic guitars. And it's not a recent development either. Dating back to the 1960s, the American brand has been creating unique and exciting instruments. The Fender CD-60SCE Blk WN aligns itself with this tradition and another one: Since the early 1980s, Fender has been committed to creating quality instruments that are both suitable and affordable for beginners. The Fender CD-60SCE is a dreadnought-style acoustic guitar with a black lacquer finish - and while its solid spruce top will certainly grab attention, its quality is evident, and its price is sensational.

Sturdy and affordable

The Fender CD-60SCE BK is undeniably a dreadnought, however, it has softer and rounder contours that set it apart from what most other manufacturers offer. It also features a cutaway that allows easy access to the higher frets. The top is made of solid spruce, and the body is crafted from laminated mahogany. The neck is also mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are made of walnut, an obvious alternative to protected rosewood. Another noteworthy feature is the neck size, which at 25.3" (643mm) is slightly shorter than usual, noticeably improving playability. The signal is captured by a Fishman pickup, which is additionally equipped with a built-in tuner.

A forgiving guitar

The Fender CD-60SCE is aimed at guitarists looking for an affordable dreadnought for the stage or any other setting. Firstly, its striking appearance and cutaway appear to have been borrowed from a higher price range. In addition to its captivating appearance, the reduced neck size is designed to attract both less experienced guitarists and those accustomed to more easily handled electric guitars. The solid spruce top and laminated body offer the best of both worlds: Sturdy construction and a dynamic sound - plus the cutaway adds an undeniable Rock & Roll touch to the ensemble.

About Fender

Fender is without doubt one of the most legendary guitar and amplifier manufacturers of all time. The company was founded in 1946 by its namesake Leo Fender († 1991), whose innovative ideas brought a breath of fresh air into the musical world. His Telecaster, Stratocaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass are not only classics – they also continue to shape the styles of musicians in countless genres to this day. Timeless Fender amplifier models such as the Bassman, Twin, Deluxe, and Princeton also enjoy a stellar reputation. Besides maintaining its classic product portfolio, however, the company is also constantly developing new products that make Fender a driving force in today’s music industry.

An awesome dreadnought

Most rockers commence their musical journey with an acoustic guitar, then channel all their passion into the electric guitar - only to realise in the end that an acoustic can still be essential, both on stage and when practising in the privacy of their own home. In this regard, the Fender CD-60SCE stands out as a compelling choice: It will make an excellent impression on stage when needed. It will also offer the audience an original, bright, and dynamic sound thanks to the solid spruce top. Moreover, the laminated wood body ensures stability and durability, and is capable of withstanding prolonged string tension. Last but not least, the body is large enough to provide a rich and resonant bass response.

This Guitar is perfect for beginners with a little mileage. It has a great sound. The only minus I would give for fret at the neck, it is a bit curved but could be consequence of transport. Otherwise Great!

Beautiful guitar. Great sound. Easy to handle. Was quite cheap, but much better, than my last (really expensive) instrument! The pickup sound is good enough for concerts. So overall I'm really happy to own it!

WR
Stylish and Versatile Guitar with Excellent Sound and Playability
Will Rodrigues 16.09.2024
The **Fender CD-60SCE Blk WN** is an outstanding steel-string guitar that perfectly balances quality, sound, and affordability. The first thing that stands out is its sleek black finish, which gives it a stylish and modern look. The cutaway design is great for accessing higher frets, making it perfect for lead playing or fingerpicking.

Sound-wise, it delivers a warm, rich tone, with plenty of resonance thanks to the solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The built-in electronics are reliable and make it easy to amplify the guitar without losing its natural acoustic quality, ideal for live performances.

The neck is comfortable, and it’s easy to play for long sessions without strain. For anyone looking for a versatile and great-sounding guitar, whether for practice, recording, or gigs, the **Fender CD-60SCE** is an excellent choice.
